1956 STAPLELESS STAPLER -"THE PAPER WELDER" - NEW IN ORIGINAL BOX! Own a piece of history with this brand new, very well built, fully functional "stapleless stapler" from 1956 called The Paper Welder. A 14-year design for this machine was granted in September, 1956 to a gentleman in Medina, New York. His company [Norman-Bathrick, Inc] manufactured and sold this high-end product for many years, until new environmental regulations made the chrome plating process prohibitively expensive. The Paper Welder weighs in at 1 pound, 4 ouces, and measures 5" long, by 2" wide, by 5" high with the lever in the natural (up) position. It is solidly built from chrome plated, die cast metal with a cork bottom. Instead of punching and folding the paper, the Paper Welder uses toothed jaws to join the paper together with a zipper-like crimp [see the sixth picture]. This great old product is owned by the son of the inventor, and has been stored in its original box [with the original instruction sheet!] for the past fifty years. The chrome plating as well as the engraved base area [hard to photograph clearly, but reads: "BATHRICK-COLLINS, INC - PAPER WELDER - PAT. NO. 2188222 - MEDINA N.Y.] still shines, and the device still functions perfectly. PLEASE ask any questions before bidding. Low starting bid on this no-reserve auction! I accept PayPal [preferred]
