This 1956 Ole Miss yearbook is in excellent condition. T are some notes written by classmates to the original owner on blank pages at the back of the book. Sports fans will enjoy the photos and writeups on the schools various teams. The football team in the 1955 season went 10-1 winning the SEC Championship and the Cotton Bowl. One scan shows a Paige Cothren run during the Egg Bowl won by Ole Miss 26-0. Another scan highlights the Cotton Bowl victory over TCU 14-13. Eagle Day was outstanding back and Buddy Alliston was outstanding lineman. Players noted who would play professionally: Eagle Day, Paige Cothren, Buddy Alliston, Billy Kinard, Earl Blair, Ray Brown, Eddie Crawford, Billy Lott, Gene Hickerson, Jackie Simpson and Billy Yelverton. Another scan shows freshman beauty Mary Ann Mobley who would be chosen Miss America in 1959. Overall a nice look at campus life 52 years ago. Accept PayPal only.
