1957 LONE RANGER Cereal Store Display Life-Size Poster from Wheaties

I have recently acquired the personal collection of a man who worked for many years as a lithographer for The Forbes Lithograph Company in Boston, MA. He retained many examples of the works by the company, including printer's proofs that were sent to customers prior to quantity production. This item came from that collection. I plan to put other works from the collection on E-bay in the months ahead.

This fantastic life-size image of The Lone Ranger was so large it was printed on 2 pieces of paper. This is a printer's proof as evidenced from the proof marks. The 2 pieces were rolled up together and well protected in a tube for many years and this explains the excellent condition.

To make the store display, the 2 halves would have been connected together and stand 72" tall. I have a reference book that shows the date that Wheaties used this advertising sign in 1957.
