Original owner - low miles. Based upon others that I own, I am estimating this one dates to the 1961-1962 time period. I believe this one will satisfy even the most discriminating collector. THE BOX: It is in almost perfect condition. No tears, paper loss, holes, torn or missing end flaps, or writing/stains of any kind. There are a couple faint "wrinkles" but nothing that approaches a permanent bend in the box walls. The design on the box corresponds to a "Box C" which was first issued in 1961. The end flaps identify the model as a "Saracen" Carrier (variation: with quotation marks). THE VEHICLE: No. 54 (a) Saracen Carrier. Produced 1958-1964. The toy is complete without any broken or missing pieces. The paint is near perfect condition. There are tiny areas of paint loss at the very front (grill?) and to the front corners of the (fenders?). I do not know if the turret is designed to rotate, but it does not. As far as casting variations go, this one has a detailed aerial mount, hatch cover and air vent, making it an earlier issue. The baseplate is closed at the rear end. The axles appear to have domed ends. I have not measured the wheels. I believe these photos provide enough detail, but should you need additional photos, let me know. Priced to sell.
