See my other tin cars in auction, more to come. Here is what I consider to be one of the most desirable sets in the Tin toy world. The car actually has no friction motor,( it isn’t supposed to) or does the trailer. The set is not mint, but in very nice condition. The Rambler measures 11 inches & has the correct/original eyelet trailer hitch, rear folding window and is totally complete, and a strong 6.5 to 7 out of 10 in condition. There are near perfect tires and hubcaps. Base is spotless except I see one little touch up by a passenger wheel well in the black base. Car rolls smoothly forward, as does trailer. The original front and rear window plastic are clear and firmly in place, and as suggested, rear folds up and down. Interior is all colorful litho with correct original plastic steering wheel. It doesn’t look like this car has ever been opened up or repaired in any way. There are 2 dings in the roof, but no chip or scratch. A few tiny chips along the drivers roof edge and side vent. ( see pics) Side trim spears have lost some silver/very common on these cars. I see some minor thread rust (under paint) throughout the hood area/fender tops, but not bad, and some on the lower rear front fender on the passenger side and door.Front bumper and grill chrome look very good, as does the rear bumper and taillights. Roof rack is nice and straight with a dot or two of tarnish. Base screws in place and are correct. Car is straight and looks SUPER with the Shasta Trailer. Shasta House trailer (11 INCH) is in wonderful original condition. It is missing the step that usually hangs from below the door and the front hitch stand and roller below the tanks. I have put a small bolt/pin in it’s place and it looks/works fine. Trailer has all the window plastic but if I remember ( and the tabs look to have been bent/opened up) I think I had to replace some window plastic, so we’ll say that the toy has been repaired opened up. My memory is vague on this as I’ve owned several and had this one at least 10 years. Roof is a clean as I’ve ever seen . Tires and hubcaps are like new,body is very tight and straight with all correct original trim and paint/plastic reflectors and “Shasta” name plates at front and back. There are a few teeny chips here and there , but nothing worth mentioning. See pics. Original silver base is close to mint. I’d call the Shasta trailer a 7.5 to cond 8 out of 10, mainly because of the missing steps and replaced roller shaft/pin. See page 225 of the Big Book of tin toy cars. NO RESERVE!! With all my auctions, there are clearly NO RETURNS. This is for good reason (see below). Customs precludes returns that would involve large tariffs to return goods back to Canada . (Costs ME money in taxes/duty to receive my OWN item back!!) Therefore, all sales are final with no returns. I have had 100% satisfaction conducting business this way since I describe as many minuses as well as pluses for the item to be sold.
