This auction is for one 1959 classic and original vintage team-issued 1959 postcard foldout featuring Los Angeles Dodger stars. Yes, these are the exact same photos used in the regular 1959 team-issued postcard set (12 in all=Duke Snider, Jim Gilliam, Don Zimmer, Charlie Neal, Norm Larker, Clem Labine, John Roseboro, Gil Hodges, Johnny Podres, Carl Furillo, Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax). They're printed back to back and thus are meant to be mailed as a complete set, folded together. They also have the same mistake that the postcards and the Morrell Meats have for that year: namely, having Joe Pignatano's photo for Norm Larker and Stan Williams' photo for Clem Labine. In this attempt to introduce Los Angeles to their new team, it seams even the publicity department needed updating! I note a postcard set of 12 being offered for nearly $500 on eBay recently. This foldout is many times more rare; in fact, I'm a very serious vintage L.A. Dodger collector, and this is the only one I've seen. Most catalogs don't list it. I wonder if this item was pulled when the embarrassing mistake was pointed out?The condition is not near mint, more like very good with wear on the outside corners and some creases--no marks, though...and Koufax IS near mint, being on the inside.
