Up for auction today is a beautiful 1959 HusqvarnaViking 21A Automatic sewing machine made in Sweden. This pristine machine has been thoroughly cleaned, lubricated and tested and is in great condition cosmetically, electrically and mechanically. It is complete with the full accessory package, original manual and case. The case has a few exterior scuffs but is otherwise sound. I have included lots of photos so you can look it over thoroughly but, of course, if you have any questions, be sure to email me before you bid. This machine uses the standard 15x1 needles and I am including about two dozen bobbins for it, many of them brand new. Each and every attachment listed in the manual is included (see photos). Since this is the 21 A model, it is equipped with the new design refinements including 1) new take up housing; 2) new knob for controlling stitch length; 3) new device for reverse sewing and 4) a stop which limits the zig zag width. These new features are included in a paste-over page for the manual. Of special note about this machine also is the special speed control that allows you to sew particularly slowly, for instance, when doing careful work or embroidering. The reduction gear is engaged by pulling out the knob at the right end of the machine. Low gear enables you to sew stitch by stitch, extremely slow and you have complete control. Push the knob in and the machine sews at normal speed. What a valuable feature! The extension plate is completely removable for free arm sewing. The manual is very detailed in explaining the use of each attachment/presser foot. In addition to the normal zig-zag, three cams (A, B, and C) are included for decorative stitches. Each cam is capable of making 5 different decorative stitches without changing the cam. Simply set the pattern selector on the front of the machine to which number (1-5) you desire. And get this: You can switch from one pattern to another with the machine RUNNING but if the machine is stopped, then you have to set the stitch width control to zero first. I could go on and on but the manual that comes with the machine is very detailed and will take you through all the steps for special functions such as darning (yes, a darning foot is included), buttonholing and many other things. Since the post office changed their rates in May of this year, I have found that, on shipments as heavy as sewing machines, they are no longer competitive with the commercial shipping companies (UPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc) so I plan on using UPS for shipping because I have had excellent results with them in the past. Insurance is mandatory but UPS covers the first $100 automatically and, of course, your package can be tracked all along it's journey. The buyer is responsible for all shipping and extra insurance expenses. NOTE: IF YOU LIVE IN A RURAL AREA, UPS PLACES A SURCHARGE OF $4.15 EXTRA FOR DELIVERY. YOU WILL HAVE TO ADD THAT TO THE SHIPPING CHARGE IF IT APPLIES TO YOU. This is not a lightweight machine. I expect the final boxing to weigh approximately 42 lbs. I accept PayPal or Money Order and expect payment within 7 days. I will ship the machine within 3 business days of receiving payment and I will notify the buyer of shipment date, tracking number and expected date of delivery. You won't see many Husqvarna Viking machines come along that are in a condition this nice. You may want to consider the Buy It Now option to avoid the last minute snipers and eliminate the guessing. The reserve price on this machine is $125 so t is no guessing and consideration of the Buy It Now makes sense to assure yourself of a quality machine for a few dollars more.
