Beautiful Vintage Collectible Mid-Century Silver Plate Silverware 71 Piece Service for 12 This silverware was acquired in the early 1960's through a rare POST CEREAL Box Top Promotion. This auction includes the original promotional brochure and order form in great condition... an amazing collectible piece of advertising history as well as beautiful vintage silverware you will use and display with pride. Just in time for your holiday table, this lovely set of beautiful vintage silverware in the Avalon Pattern by WM. Rogers Mfg. Co. This unique silverware was offered as a premium by the POST CEREAL Company in the early 1960's. Individual pieces could be purchased using cash and Post Cereal box tops. This silverware set is in very good, hardly used condition. It could use some polishing, it has been in storage for a long time, t is a little tarnish, but no pitting or wear. THE LOOK OF FINE JEWELRY ON YOUR DINING TABLE The pattern on these pieces is delicate and elegant. This silverware would be a wonderful investment for yourself or as a gift to someone very special. The sparkle of this silver will create an elegant atmosp for any dining occasion. The service includes: * 12 knives @ 8 1/2" long * 11 dinner forks @ 7 1/2" long * 12 desert forks 6" long * 12 soup spoons @ 7" long * 24 cocktail spoons @ 6" long Included with this beautiful silverware is a lovely velvet lined wood box to store and protect this treasure. The box measures 15 1/2" X 11" X 3 1/2". This exquisite set was manufactured by the Wm Rogers Company. Wm. Rogers (William Rogers), born in 1820, was a master American silversmith and a pioneer in the silver plate industry. The mark Wm. Rogers Mfg Co was used by the International Silver Company. The Wm. Rogers Manufacturing Company was absorbed into the International Silver Company in 1911.
