Description: The item up for auction is a vintage cup and saucer from "Mammy's Shanty" with a backstamp that dates cup to 1960. Saucer is 5.5" in diameter and in excellent condition with pattern matching one around mouth of cup- this is Syracuse China and dates to 1933. Cup has a tight hairline that is in shape of upside down Y - see second photo and part of hairline comes down through word FOR. The writing inside the cup is interestingly part of the song auld Lang Syne. "We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet for days o' auld lang syne". We have no idea of the origin of Mammy's Shanty and are assuming it was a restaurant. Please email w questions prior to bidding.
