This is a toy cap pistol and can not fire any type of projectile. It has been plugged with an orange plug per ebay rules, and is save. This Hubley TEX cap gun , made around 1960 was nickel plated, but has darkened with age. It is about 8 inches long, and has the white pistol grips with the black steer on both sides. It has a release button that lets it spring open to load a roll of caps. The hinge has slight play. It is marked inside HUBLEY MADE IN U.S.A. PAT.# 1993916. Both sides of the pistol grip have the Hubley star with most of the red paint remaining on the star logo. When the trigger is pulled the hammer comes back and releases to fire the caps. The hammer does not stay back. There are no missing or broken parts, and all of the fancy work looks good. Notice the rope border around the stars on the edges of the pistol grips. This is a very good cap gun for your collection.
