This is the Vintage Chatty Cathy doll with a stamped date of: MCMLX on the back along with Mattel Inc Hawthorne, CA. This makes it the 1960 doll. Cathy is wearing her original dress and shoes; extra dress was stored with her for years and I don't know if it came from manufacturer (no tag inside either dress to tell). She is wearing red bloomers.Her pull cord on back works and you can hear most of the phrases: "Can I have a cookie?" "Let's play school." "I love you." "Please fix my hair." Cathy doll was stored for years in a cedar chest; some of this time the chest was in a dry basement. There is no moisture damage, but a smell of vintage cedar or basement; not highly objectionable to me. Great condition for over 50 years old!!!Her history: Bought for an only child who was born in 1957 and has been in her birth home for years. Sold for reason of estate liquidation.Any questions? Please ask ahead. Sale final. She will be shipped in a flat rate box with cost set by Post Office box size, as this should be the most cost efficient way. If you want a different route, I am willing! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ CORRECTION: The speaker box is on the front chest as newest photo shows. The Mattel logo and date is on the lower back. Please note the photos for condition....I don't know the importance of some of these details.
