1960 Eagle Toys Power Play Table Top Hockey Game Beautiful playing surface - Includes all Original Six Team Banners Very good to Excellent Condition There's old school and then there's Old School. This table hockey game is the latter. Long before Coleco came around and plasticized a beautiful line up of top shelf hockey games, Eagle Toys, (and Santa's elves) were making some of the industry's most classic models out of wood and metal. This 51 year old gem of a game is just that; an old school classic made out of wood and metal, and a beauty that demands a look by anyone interested in these grand old games. You'll find 30 pictures of this vintage game below this description. Displayability I don't think I need to say much about how good this game looks sitting on a table. Now imagine this beauty sitting in your man cave or game room. Theplaying surface is absolutely gorgeous. The original paint has not been touched up and shines like a Zamboni just finished laying down a fresh coat of the real thing. Wear and tear is confined mostly to the slot areas and the goalie creases and a testament in itself to how much fun this game is to play. The wood frame with metal corners has spit in the face of Old Man Time. Paint loss is absolutely minimal and found mainly where you'd expect it, on the edges. The beautiful, full color uniform graphics of each of the Original Six teams is in beautiful condition. The color is outstanding and as you can see in the pics, the wood frame itself is in outstanding condition. Playability This game would look at home in a museum, but at 51 years old, this game needs to be played because it still has a lot of game left in it. The tin players glide back and forth in their slots easily without binding up against the playing surface. Underneath the player control mechanisms work like new. Game play is silky smooth. Nothing is missing and nothing needs to be replaced. The springs have been lubricated for trouble free play. The puck ejectors work every time and there is no rust on the metal components or the metal goal net holders. Accessories The original goal nets are in mint condition! Each net is 100% free of cracks or breaks in its frame and netting. Each net comes with its original red painted metal goal frame that slides into the post holder on each side of the net. The overhead metal scoreboard is in very good condition for its age and stands sturdily over the playing surface with the included hardware. Each of the Original Six, ( Chicago , New York , Detroit , Boston , Montreal and Toronto ) team banners are included. Each is in very good to excellent condition for paper products more than half a century old. Only the Boston Bruins banner has been repaired. The tin men representing a classic Hockey Night in Canada battle between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs are in good, game used condition. Each tin man is free of rust. Paint loss and bending is consistent with normal game play. One of the two original goal light towers are included. And thanks to an incredibly clean and totally rust free battery holder under each net, the light tower still works when a flash light bulb is attached to the top as you can see in the pics. The original rubber bands used along the boards to re-direct the puck have long since disintegrated, but you'll receive six replacements to keep you playing for years. The original puck is included as are all of the rubber tips that you hold on to, to control the players.Other original accessories such as the holder for the Stanley Cup and the Penalty Box gates are MIA.
