MECHANICAL ASTRO CAPTAIN Made in Japan by Daiya in the 1960`s, of plastic and tin construction. Wind it up and as he walks, sparks can be seen within his chest. Measures 6 inches tall and about 4 inches wide at the key. The wind-up mechanism is a bit tight but he does walk and spark. Because of his rounded base, the walking action causes his arms to swing, giving him a better action look. Seldom seen, this uncommon astronaut toy would fit nicely in any robot, space or wind-up Japanese toy collection. (Note: Photos may show a flash reflection.)
