Simply Stylish. These scarce dining chairs were manufactured in the 1960's by the West Of Scotland Furniture Manufacturing Company under their 'Beithcraft' label.They are crafted from solid afrormosia and showcase the work of skilled Scottish designers with a distinct nod to the highly fashionable Danish designs of the era. In the 1960's the Ayrshire town of Beith was to Scotland what High Wycombe was to England - a hub of furniture design and manufacturing activity with numerous cabinet makers producing high quality pieces which became extremely popular.Beithcraft produced some cracking designs and these dining chairs are certainly one of them! With their minimal form, clean lines and winning combination of rich timber against black leatherette these stand out from the crowd and invite into your home a touch of ultra modern Mid 20th Century style. These chairs are extremely comfortable with their generous padding, soft leatherette and very supportive angled back rests.Certainly something different - few British companies produced pieces in the league of these! These chairs were purchased from Maples furniture store on Tottenham Court Road in the 1960's and have had one owner since who cherished them.
