is a strong 1960's modern impressionist watercolor seascape painting by the artist Edmund Canelli. Canelli hails from Wallingford,Connecticut and was a member of the Ameican Watercolor Society,as well as several other prominent groups that he exhibited with. The previous owner has affixed a short bio of the artist on the piece verso which I have pics of above. His talent is evident and the work is skillfully rendered. It measures 20 by 27 inches overall with the image measuring 13 1/2 by 20 1/2 inches. The 1 inch silver and brown tone pine molding shows some mild wear from age but displays well and compliments the work nicely. Please excuse any reflections in the pics. A beautifully executed seascape with fishingboats and figures dockside. Strong tones of blue and a grand sky bring a nice sense of depth and action to the piece,it shows wonderfully. Great use of color round out a super modern impressionist work.
