GRETE JALK SOFA VINTAGE teak sofa/daybed designed by Grete Jalk for France & Sons circa early 1960's. The richly grained solid teak frame measures approx. 29"H X 80"L X 29"D, featuring sculptural whale bone arms, gracefully tapered legs, wide slatted back and a sturdy support system in the bottom. The original cushions feature a built-in coiled spring system for fabulous comfort. The taupe chenille fabric appears to original and features a textured checkerboard pattern. The frame retains both the "France & Sons" and "John Stuart Inc." metal medallions. The frame is in EXCELLENT vintage condition with NO damage. The fabric is WELL WORN, with a hole under the bottom cushion, and would benefit from cleaning or replacement. The liner under bottom cushion has a tear and the foam under the liner is torn in one spot, neither of these issues affects the use of the sofa. A PERFECT addition to any Scandinavian, Danish or Mid-Century Modern decor including designs by Hans Wegner, Finn Juhl, Peter Hvidt, Alvar Aalto, Arne Jacobsen, Arne Vodder, and Borge Mogensen.
