GOD IS A VERB This auction is for an original " fl ow er p ow er " type poster from the 1 96 0' s. It is titled GOD IS A VERB , and has a saying by R BUCKMINSTER FULLER . The artwork was done by LUCIA PEARCE. The saying on the poster reads: FOR GOD, TO ME, IT SEEMS IS A VERB *** IS LOVING *** IS KNOWLEDGE DYNAMIC *** YES, GOD IS A VERB, THE MOST ACTIVE, CONNOTING THE VAST HARMONIC REORDERING OF THE UNIVERSE FROM UNLEASHED CHAOS OF ENERGY R Buckminster Fuller This is a 43+ year old vintage original, NOT a modern reproduction. Authenticity is guaranteed. It is printed on high-quality, heavy poster paper. The colors are clear and bright, and the image quality is superb. The collection was aquired from an elderly gentleman who was a poster dealer in the 60's , as well as an avid collector. He paid well over 100k to store the collection all these years. They have been stored away flat and unused, and the colors are still very bright and vibrant. Richard Buckminster “Bucky” Fuller ( July 12 , 1895 – July 1 , 1983 ) was an American visionary , designer , architect , poet , author , and inventor . He was the second president of Mensa .Throughout his life, Fuller was concerned with the question "Does humanity have a chance to survive lastingly and successfully on planet Earth, and if so, how?" Considering himself an average individual without special monetary means or academic degree, he chose to devote his life to this question, trying to find out what an individual like him could do to improve humanity's condition that large organizations, governments, or private enterprises inherently could not do.Pursuing this lifelong experiment, Fuller wrote more than thirty books, coining and popularizing terms such as "spaceship earth" , ephemeralization , and synergetics . He also worked in the development of numerous inventions, chiefly in the fields of design and architecture, the best known of which is the geodesic dome . Carbon molecules known as fullerenes or buckyballs were named for their resemblance to a geodesic sphere.Late in his life, after working on his concepts for several decades, Fuller had achieved considerable public visibility. He traveled the world giving lectures, and received numerous honorary doctorates. Most of his inventions, however, never made it into production, and he was strongly criticized in most fields he tried to influence such as architecture, or simply dismissed as a hopeless utopian . Fuller's proponents, on the other hand, claim that his work has not yet received the attention that it deserves. According to philosopher N.J.Slabbert, Fuller had an obscure writing style which has impeded the circulation of his ideas. The artist, formerly know as Lucia Pearce, resumed her maidien name in the late 70s. She is now known as Lucia Capacchione, Ph.D., art therapist, trainer and best-selling author of 13 books. Originally from southern California, she now lives in Cambria, California. In addition to having a private practice and directing an international certification training program (Creative Journal Expressive Arts), she has continued creating visual art in many different styles and media. Her books and audio programs are available at . Lucia studied art in the late 50s with famed artist and graphic designer, Corita Kent (Sister Mary Corita) at the legenday Art Department of Immaculate Heart College in Hollywood. Lucia then worked for world-renowned designers, Charles and Ray Eames, at their Venice, California studio. After marrying fellow Eames office designer, Peter Pearce, Lucia gave birth to two children, Celia and Aleta Pearce. From 1964-70, s he created a series of limited edition original silk screen prints (serigraphs) which were exhibited at college campuses, galleries and other public places in California, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
