Upfor sale is Mobil Gas Banner. This banner was made by the Massillon Cleveland Akron Sign Company. It’s 32” x 111”. This is a cloth banner that was meant to hang outside in all types of weather conditions. The factory placed holes in the banner to prevent it from acting like a sail when hit by high winds. The caption reads: “Now Winter Mobil Gas”. I believe this piece dates to the 1960’s. Not many of these survived because they were meant to hang outside during the wintertime and ‘ol man winter took his toll on these banners. The piece is in good shape and has nice graphics. In the lower right hand corner there is the manufacturer’s mark of Massillon Cleveland Akron Sign Company. This company was in Ohio for 105 years (1904-2009) before they moved to South Carolina. They were noted for producing high quality corporate banners. The banner was used, but still has nice eye appeal. This banner is not seen too often. Terms: Payment is due after end of auction.
