Offered is a circa 1960s, very finely woven Navaho weaving that measures 6 feet 6 inches long by 4 foot wide. It is attributed to the Teec Nos Pos area and is in mint condition. It was woven by a master weaver on a primitive upright loom of all commercial 4-ply sheep wool, both warp & weft. The design of this nicely executed piece is the classic motifs of the era. The beautiful gray field is filled with diamonds, triangles, latch-hooks, feathers, meanders, horned rams heads and many others. It has a great border with one wide zone and 4 narrower bands. The wide border zone encircles the entire weaving with a motif of opposing arrow-knocks connected by a small diamonds. Just a clean, crisp, fine woven old Teec.

We obtained this great Native American textile in New Mexico just to offer to you on eBay. It has a near tapestry weft count averaging 50+ per inch and a warp count of 8 per inch. The selvage cords are all original and in mint condition. Warp selvages are 2-spiral cords and weft selvages are natural weft loop finished around outside warps. The corners and tassels are all in original, mint condition. No bleed, no wear, no holes, no odors, no moth-bites, no fade, no stains and no snags. It has never been cleaned before, is clean now and comes from a non-smoking home. Both sides are even in color and shown in photos below. It lays flat & smooth and is symmetrical. Colors are bright and strong in this piece of American Indian art and they are: natural light gray, medium gray & white along with aniline colors of brown, copper brown, coal black, yellow, gold and dark peach. Complete with lazy lines and a spirit line or weaverÂ's pathway, this nice example of vintage Native Americana is ready to display in your own hacienda on the wall or the floor or just tuck away in your private rug & blanket collection.
