You are bidding on a MAGNIFICIENT 1960s VINTAGE THONET DINING ROOM SET CONSISTING OF FOUR, VINYL COVERED, BLONDE BENTWOOD CHAIRS and A VERY RARE MATCHING, DOUBLE DROPLEAF HARDWOOD TABLE WITH TWO EXTRA LEAVES. Recently purchased from the original owner's non-smoking and pet-free Central Florida estate, this brand name, MidCentury modern furniture is ready to become the new centerpiece of your Eames Era, Retro, Danish Modern or similar dining room. The Table With both panels in the down position, the table measures 24 inches across, 40 inches wide and a standard 30 inches tall. With both panels in the up position, the table measures 66 inches across and 40 inches wide. This auction includes TWO ADDITIONAL table leaves (not shown) which, when in place, extend the length of the table to a massive 86 inches across. Note the scalloped trim detail to the ends of both sides of the table. The table is very solid with no split wood, cracks, structural damage or repairs. T are minor signs of normal use and wear and tear easily consistent with age and use. The Chairs Most bentwood chairs sold by Thonet in the 1960s had a plain wooden back rest and seat. This auction includes four Thonet's deluxe model chairs which feature softly padded vinyl back rests and seats. All vinyl coverings on these chairs is in excellent condition with only a few and very minor imperfections easily consistent with age and normal use. Each chair measures 31 inches tall, 18 inches wide, 18 inches deep and with a seat height of 18 inches. All four chairs are very solid with no loose backs or legs. T is no split wood, structural damage or repairs. T are surface scuffs, the majority of which will be removable with a thorough cleaning, easily consistent with age and normal use. Very reasonable reserve. Buyer is MORE THAN WELCOME to collect this set free of charge from our convenient Central Florida location or we will properly prepare (this freight shipment will consist of multiple very large cartons), fully insure and have this set delivered to the front door of any home, office or museum within the continental USA for between $160 and $220 depending on the final bid price and your distance from Central Florida.
