1960's Walt Disney DISNEYLAND Shooting Arcade STEEL TARGET Bird Frontierland Product Description

"SATURDAY'S TOYS Presents..." an original heavy Steel Arcade Shooting TARGET from Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

These targets were crafted by a Southern California business, MacGlashan Enterprises. This family firm originally handled the firearms, the shot, and the targets for these early Disneyland amusements. The targets were typically painted with a simple flat wall paint... and they were painted often to keep them looking fresh for each day's guests. Later, these targets were replaced with laser guns and targets... eliminating the need for these iconic original targets.

This small BIRD target was used at either the Frontierland or Adventureland Shooting Arcade. The Big Game Safari Shooting Gallery in Adventureland (focused on shooting big game) was the largest of the Disneyland Shooting Arcades... from June 1962 through the following decade. After the arcade was utilized for other purposes... many of the targets from both shooting galleries were bundled and left outdoors in a backstage area where they began to rust until preserved by a former Disneyland cast member. The targets have remained in storage since that time (mid-1970's).
