One of the most delightful, innovative and interesting cars Lionel produced in the 1960’s was the 3545 TV Monitoring car. A take-off from the 1959 Radar Scanning Scope Car, this rare car appeared in only one catalogued set (#2573WS from 1961) and a handful of promotional/uncatalogued outfits. It is considered by many to be one of the more unusual space age era collectible cars because of its fragile parts and dynamic operation (TV camera man spins around while the car goes down the track). Inevitably, the cameraman mechanism breaks or the car has lost its two control panel inserts. This example has just been rebuilt, freshly serviced and is complete in all parts (some new, some old). The belt is there, but it’s off the pulley, and someone more mechanically inclined than me should be able to easily wind the it around around the pulley and the truck axles to make the camera man like a top. No box. Modest reserve appropriate for the rarity and collectability of this piece. Email for questions! A note to all
