This is my 1961 Buick Skylark. Rolled of the production line in Southgate California at the GM plant. The car runs a small block 215 V8 which in english is 3.5 litres. Rover loved this engine so much they bought the rights to use it and it became their famous V8 that went in many a Land Rover, Range Rover, P1, P6, SD1 etc etc..... so spares for the engine are very easy to come by. This car has just had a full service including new oil, oil filters, fuel filter, NGK Vgroove spark plugs. Engine runs sweet and I have done over a thousand miles without hassle. Transmission is from a 2 speed powerglide box which was overhauled in 2009 at over £1500. Box changes smoothly with no knocking and is column change. I was curious as to what they were so emailed Coddington's themselves and one of his sons got in touch with me to tell me they were called "rodsports". I have seen these type of billet wheel change hands for decent money so a nice extra to have on the car. Tyres are 205's all round all with loads of tread on them. I had the car pinstriped by a well known guy up here, Stuart Mclaren. All done by hand in enamel paint. The car was given a quick blow over earlier in the year, not a show winning job but certainly read more
