DESCRIPTION The M&M Outfield in “61” ! ’s a terrific shot of the M&M Outfield in the magical season of “61” as captured in this Vintage 1961 ORIGINAL News Service Photo issued by United Press International that season when Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris chased Babe Ruth for the single season home run record. Shot captures Maris in the foreground and Mantle in the background with the Yankee Stadium scoreboard in the backdrop. Original press stamp and caption with date are on the reverse of this beautiful photograph measuring 7” x 9”. The legendary 1961 New York Yankees - one of the greatest teams in baseball history that inspired numerous publications, books and a film. are the two headline stars, the M&M Boys !
