1961 PR68DCAM Washington QuarterA very nice, high contrast, 90% silver Washington Quarter with deeply mirrored fields and blast white, frosted devices A difficult date to find with this much contrast. At the time this was struck only a handful of the first proof coins struck from a fresh die pairing showed the contrast necessary to qualify as Deep Cameo. I have examined this coin under magnification and can find no detracting marks aside from a few scattered areas of "milk" spotting that should be visible in the provided photos. "Milk" spotting on silver proof issues was common during this time period and is likely the result of improperly washed planchets. Once the improperly washed planchet is struck this spotting becomes a permanent "part" of the coin and cannot be removed without damaging the coin. Coin pictured is the coin you will receive. Any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer them.
