For bid is a 1961 revolving light/sign for Schlitz Beer. After 50 years this terrific collectible LIGHTS UP, REVOLVES, AND LOOKS GREAT!!!
I like to describe my items as accurately as possible, so buyers know what they are getting--at the expense that the description may make the item sound worse than it actually looks. Please review my pictures and compare this neat sign to identical ones that have recently sold. I think you'll see it looks very comparable in condition, but my listing has provided a more detailed description...
There is some light wear to some of the letters. There is a small blemish (about 1" long) on the top rim; looks like a melt mark of some kind that appears on the surface only; does not go through. There are some light scratches to the surface of the blue globe. The wiring has been redone at some point, but not by me; I added more electrical tape since the old tape was coming loose. When plugged in the light comes on immediately, but it takes about a minute and a half to two minutes for the motor to warm up and the globe begin revolving. Once started, if you turn the light off then back on, it revolves immediately. There is a knob on the bottom of the globe, which is marked on and off, but it does not turn the light off. Not sure if it was supposed to be a switch, as turning the knob counterclockwise removes the knob so you can remove the bottom portion of the globe to change the light. There is an on/off switch, however, on the power cord itself.
