This has been in my family since 1962, the year it was given to my grandfather who was a big Detroit Tigers Fan back then. One look at it and you will know it is a real genuine vintage team signed baseball from almost 50 years ago. There are two Hall of Famers that signed it. Al Kaline's autograph is faded but you can still see that unmistakable "K". Jim Bunning's autograph is very strong. There are many signatures that I just cannot make out and some others that do not look familar to me. Those I do recognize quite readily are Steve Boros, Chico Fernandez, Ron Kline, Frank Lary, Hank Acquirre, Dick Brown, Mike Roarke, Bubba Morton, Ron Nischwitz and Manager Bob Scheffing. As you will see from the pictures, this baseball was varnished which was typical of the real old school signed baseballs back in the day. Also unique in the day is the bold THE DETROIT TIGERS black ink stamping indicating that this was an official team ball for all the players to sign. There is no Certificate of Authenticity as there were none back then. My grandfather was plenty proud of this baseball and his Tigers. My other Grandfather was a Cadillac/Oldsmobile Service Manager for over 50 years going back to the Packard/LaSalle days. What do you think these two guys would think of Detroit now?
