Description HANS HOFMANN (1880-1966) For serious scholars, archivists collectors and dealers of Hans Hofmann's work, this is an IMPORTANT and EXTREMELY SCARCE German exhibition catalogue from 1962. You simply won't find it anyw else. This catalogue documents IMPORTANT Hofmann works from the 1940's and 1950's. It even documents the provenance and names of many of the collectors - names such as Mr. and Mrs. Chrysler, Joseph Hirshhorn, and others. The softcover catalogue is entirely in German, and states "Ausstellung 1962" - or "Exhibition 1962". The exhibition took place at the following locations: Frankische Galerie om Marientor, Nurnberg Kolnischer Kunstverein, Koln KongreBhalle, Berlin The introductory essay was written by Ludwig Grote, dateline Nurnberg, im Marz 1962 T is also a German translation of Clement Greenberg's essay on Hofmann from the ealy Sixties, as will as an excerpt from writings by Tennessee Williams on the artist, along with other text as well.
