This is a Canadian version of the Salada Junket plastic player coins issued in the U.S. Backs specify an issue of 200; 21 players from the Salada set were not issued by Shirriff. Because the Canadian coins were produced after the U.S. version they are not found with all the variations known in Salada. Shirriff coins were packed in bags of potato chips, with each coin sealed in a clear cellophane wrapper. The Canadian coins are much scarcer than the U.S Salada coin because of only one print run compared to two print runs of the Salada coins. These coins are similar to the Topps, Old London, Pins, Armour, Jello, Chips and Salada coins in the 1960’s but are much scarcer because they were issued in boxes of tea and pudding mix.
