Howdy! I have just accepted a huge collection for consignment (mostly '50s & '60's Baseball (partial sets of '53B & '54B including many high numbers in each). Also a nice complete '63 Fleer set. Partial sets of '59 Fleer Ted Williams,'62T, '63T, '67T, & '72 T. '50s FB cards & '70s basketball sets, along with some of the best '80s basketball (Star & Fleer, including THE Jordan RCs!) T is a LOT of it, but I hope to get it all listed over the next couple of months. Be sure to check my other auctions for some neat stuff. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are bidding on a nice partial set (461 of 598) of 1962 Topps baseball cards. Someone really put a lot of care into putting this together. In addition to the 461 cards, t are another 7 extra variation cards (several are very rare with high value). Nearly all the major cards and stars are included. Most of the missing cards are commons. I try to grade conservatively (please read my feedback comments). Overall, I'd grade this set at least a nice fairly consistent vg/ex. If these were any other year than '62s or '71s, it would probably be described as overall closer to Ex.....the slightest blemishes show up more on '62s. Many of the high numbers and mid-highs are especially nice. I would say that t are probably a lot more cards that should be considered better than VG/Ex than t are of those that would be lesser. The one problem common to most is centering , which is an innt fault in all Topps cards from the '60s, especially '62s. While most are going to be at least a little off-center, very few are at all objectionable. T aren't many that are worse than 80/20, and most are probably between 60/40 and 70/30. T aren't more than a small handful of creases (light ones). T are the usual few with wax stains on the back, but not many. T are about 5 or 6 that have some tape marks, or a small tear on the back. But only a very few would require replacement to eliminate any major problems. Of those scanned (many of the higher dollar cards), most would be at least vg or vg/ex, and many at least ex. Mantle & Maris are both at least nice clean VG/Ex, in my opinion. The HR leaders card #53 has light creases and would grade lower VG at best. Switch hitter Connects #318 has a nice front, but tape marks on the back edges. Mantle AS # 471 has a lengthy diagonal crease. Managers' Dream #18 might be close to Ex/Mt except for a small rubber band mark/crease on the lower right border. As you can see from the scans, these are very attractive cards. This is one of those sets for which Beckett lists a set value that is FAR less than the sum of it's parts (probably more so than any other set). Just the 8 cards in the first scan total Beckett listings of more than $2,000. It has terrific break-up potential. A LOT of higher dollar cards. The cards included with this listing are listed by Beckett for far more than the set. Included are #s 1-19,22-30,33-43,45-56,58-61,63-64,66-67,69,71,75,77-78,81-89,91-100,102, 104-106,108-113,115-118,120-121,123-128,130-142, 144-151,153-164,166,168-171,173,175-177, 179-184,186-191,194-198,200-208,210,212,214-219,221-228,230-231,233-235,237-259,261-264, 267-281, 283-289,291-292,294-299,301,304-312,315-332,334-344,347-348,350-352, 354-355, 357-360,362-363,367-368,370-372,374,376,378-384,386,389, 392-398,401-406,408,410-414, 416-426,428-430,432-439,443-447,450,453, 456,458-462,464,471-472,475-479,481,483-484, 486-488,490-495,497,500, 502-503,505-508,510-513,515,517,520-523,525-526,528-529, 531-539, 543-544,546,548,551,554,556-559,561-572,574,576,578-580,582-583, 587-588, 594-598. Also variations of #s 124,134, 139 (all three variations are ,177,190, & 462. T is huge value in these. It's so nice I hate to break it up. So I decided to first offer this as a partial set lot, so someone who is trying to build a sharp set would have a shot at i...
