Up for auction is a 1963 Dansette Hi-Fi record player.When this top of the range model came out it was an instant hit with the public.This was partly due to the cost, most radiograms/record players were beyond the reach of many and were regarded as a status symbol for those that could afford them,for example a Decca stereogram of the same period could cost £115 pounds or more! which in the 1960's was a lot of money.Another reason why the Dansette sold well was the bright colours they came in and innovative design which the teenagers loved, It is THE record player company that most people associate with the 'swinging Sixties' and has become a design icon.This particular Dansette has been fully serviced and now looks superb.The powerful twin valve 3 stage push-pull amplifier has been PROPERLY serviced(many years of experience restoring Jukeboxes, old radios, and record players) all the old capacitors have been replaced and several resistors have also been replaced to ensure the best possible sound quality.ALL the valves has been tested on my AVO valve tester and was found to be in excellent condition.
