This is a Gibson Patent Number pickup from a 1963 SG. It's in outstanding completely original condition. It's the best I've ever seen, except for the other one, which is in my ES-175. I've had this packed away as a spare, but they're so reliable I don't think I'll ever need it, and now is the time to raise some cash for an overseas move. If you're familiar with early Gibson pickups, you'll know that 1963 Patent Number pickups are identical to 1961-62 PAFs. The only difference is the sticker. This is attested to in considerable detail by all authorities. They certainly sound the same! Impedance is 7.96k, which is spot-on, and good for bridge or neck. The lead is 12 inches long and is soft and flexible. The cover has never been removed and is held on with the original solder. The cover is brilliantly shiny with the lightest of performance wear. The pole pieces all have matching shiny finish and crisp undamaged adjusting slots. Please examine the closeup photos of the sticker and the bottom of the foot. You can use these to verify the unit's authenticity. The sticker has all correct color, typeface, and decal transparency. The foot shows the correct L-shaped indents from the forming process. Prices will only go up for '63 Patent Numbers, especially now that PAFs have gone completely to the moon.
