HAMILTON'S INVADERS GRUESOME / BRUTAL BEETLEMade in the U.S.A by Remco in 1964 as part of the Hamilton's Invaders playset. The Gruesome, or also know as the Brutal Beetle measures about 8 inches long by 6 inches wide. The beetle is propelled by a pull string motor with off-set wheels that cause it to slightly zig-zag toward the readied blue army. The front pinchers of the beetle when in an open position, will close on contact with the helpless blue army man. In Very Good condition, some general play wear and the back tail appears to have been broken off slightly. Wind up mechanism works well, string pulls out to about a foot. Pinchers in the front will close up on unsuspecting army man. Some light rubbing to the painted surface at the high spots, but its really hard to tell as it is after all a "gruesome" bug. Would make a fine addition to any Hamilton's Invaders playset or monster toy collection.
