The Zenith Trans-Symphony Royal 2000 was t he first-ever portable tubeless AM/FM radio produced in the U.S. The 2000-1 version has the alternate AC power adapter and wiring. (It can also be powered by batteries.) The Zenith 2000s are renowned for their spectacular performance and sound. They were designed by Zenith to be "companions" to the mighty Trans-oceanics. They are built like tanks, with an automotive-sized speaker, heavy wiring and lugged jacks, and superior metal chassis construction. This Zenith radio is featured in a number of classic transistor radio websites, including: /collection/zenith/zenith10.html , and /r/zenith_trans_symphony_royal_2000_1.html . This example is in working order, receiving stations on both bands. It could probably be improved with capacitor replacements. These radios are relatively rare and most of them saw a lot of use. This one is no exception, showing and a few dings on the top chrome, and some modest pitting on the chrome endcaps. However, t are no chips or cracks in the case, and it displays very handsomely. The AC adapter is included, and it is functional though a bit grungy. Both antennas are present and are unbroken. The standard postage rate is for residents of the continental USA . I will gladly ship this anyw serviced by the USPS, but if you reside outside the continental USA , please inquire for postage charges and payment methods before bidding .
