This is a GUARANTEED ALL ORIGINAL VINTAGE LIONEL 239 SCOUT LOCOMOTIVE AND MATCHING 234W WHISTLE TENDER IN POSSIBLY UNUSED, OR LIGHTLY USED OPERATING MINT CONDITION.This set came from a local toy store in the 1980s when they were moving locations and selling off old stock. There were no boxes with these pieces. This 027 GAUGE set was only made in 1965-66 and obviously has no broken, missing, repaired or replaced parts. I have just tested this set, and the locomotive light and E unit work perfectly, the smoke unit has never been used, absolutely NO SIGN OF ANY RESIDUE, and I cannot find any smoke pellets to test, but I assume it works perfectly also. The whistle on the tender is strong and clear. This is a REAL MATCHED SET (NOT A PUT-TOGETHER SET). The metal cast loco appears perfect, with bright green jewel lights. The tender likewise is free of any blemishes that I can see. The journals are marked "TIMKEN" ,not sure what that means. All the lettering is perfect.
