You are bidding on what is perhaps the rarest dealer-item-only authentic Ford literature item I've ever seen in my more than 30 years of collecting such treasures. Check this out and decide for yourself. This unusual item still has its original imprinted three ring binder. T are obvious signs of wear when it was actually used in a dealership, but nothing that detracts seriously from its appeal due to its scarcity. It appears to be complete judging by the page numbering sequencing found on the pages. The binder is divided into ten sections. (See picture) Please take the time to read the entire description and study the photos so you can truly understand the significance of adding this piece to your memorabilia collection. I'll descibe each briefly as follows: 1) WHY SELL MOTORSPORT? Includes a full section on how to equip a new Mustang to appeal to customers wanting a performance car, or specifically an import sports car (See pictures). Fourteen pages total. 2) ADVANTAGES - Details the advantages of a dealership having a performance-oriented reputation, and extra profits realized tin. Two pages. 3) ORGANIZATION - How to properly order cars, parts inventory, train personnel, etc. Four pages. 4) CAR SALES - Information on marketing performance cars for customers that want to participate in racing events, or just want to have a unique performance car for their transportation needs. Eight pages. 5) PARTS AND SERVICE SALES - Discusses the importance of uniting these two departments along with sales to have a totally inclusive program for "one stop shopping". Three pages. 6) SPONSORSHIP - The advantages of sponsoring a customer or other car are spelled out in this chapter. Five pages. 7) ADVERTISING - This chapter hints at effective advertising venues, and provides sample newspaper and radio ads. (See picture). Six pages. 8) GLOSSARY - This is a simple to understand glossary of common motorsport terminology for dealer staff unfamiliar with them. Also lists NHRA stock class specs and recommended additional reading. Eighteen pages. 9) SHELBY - In my opinion, the highlight of this piece. It briefly covers what the advantages and expectations of a Shelby American dealer are. Fascinating stuff. Nine pages. 10) Vehicle specs for the entire 1965 Ford and Shelby American models that are performance-oriented. Includes Mustang, Galaxie, Fairlane, and GT350 and Cobra, both street and super competition versions. Many great black and white photos. These were truly the good ol' days! (See pictures). Twenty pages. Thanks for your time reading a BRIEF description of this one-of-kind item that offers a mere glimpse into how serious Ford was about "Total Performance". Don't miss this! It's not too early to start thinking about Christmas gifts, especially for that special someone (or even yourself) who loves collecting anything about hi-po Fords or early Shelbys. Be sure to see all my other Ford automotive book auctions this week. Many have been out of print for years, and are highly desired amongst collectors. I will combine shipping costs for multiple auction winners. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding.
