1965 Gibson Melody Maker – Factory Custom Humbucker Serial # 289698 This Guitar is an extremely rare find…A 1965 Gibson Melody Maker including a custom Gibson humbucker pickup that was installed at the Gibson factory. This Vintage Gibson is all original with it's custom humbucker upgrade aside from the upgraded bridge, tuning knobs and volume/tone knob. It is in excellent condition and plays like a dream. Its tone is big and fat while the action and frets are fluid and dead on. This guitar is a serious collector and also one heck of a player…The best combination for an instrument of this rarity. The Gibson name, its American standard of quality, and notoriously beautiful tone are exemplified extremely well in this guitar. If you let it pass, you may never see one like this again. This guitar is said (by the appraising company who confirmed its authenticity) to have the original Gibson humbucker pickup for the vintage that was installed after the guitar was completed in 1965. I am not familiar enough with the model to atest to this statement, but I can say that the vibntage Gibson humbucker in this guitar sounds and responds in a 100% glowing vintage tonality like no other guitar i've played!!
