Beautiful Tamaya & Co Ltd. Sextant in its original case and all in original cardboard box. Looks unused . Owned by lifelong merchant marine who used an old Pickering sextant and usually kept this one at home. The cardboard box has Sextant Model 1, but in the little instruction booklet (all in Japanese) this model is identified as 632 A. I am not sure of the type of metal which makes up the body of the sextant, but I believe the arc is polished bronze. The extra scope/eyepiece is probably 12 x 20 mm, while the primary eyepiece is 4 x 40 mm. I am not positive but those are the numbers used for this model in the instruction book. 4 shades for index mirror and 3 shades for horizon mirror. Other than that , I really do not know much about these instruments. T is a spot or two on the arc that shows green, so a polishing may be in order. The primary eyepiece, which has been screwed in place since I have had the sextant, fits perfectly into the only unoccupied hole in the box, so I am pretty sure nothing is missing. Still has stamped warranty card. In the bottom of the box is the spare scope, a small screwdriver, a bag of dessicant, and some tissue. The 10 page instruction book is in Japanese. One end of the arc has TAMAYA & CO. LTD which matches the number on the inside lid of the box and on the outside name plate . NO 17252 The other end
