2016 is the 50th anniversary of Mattel's introduction of Barbie's "MODern Cousin", Francie. This pretty teenager is offered at auction from my personal collection.This doll is in excellent++ condition. Her torso is clean with no cracks or stains; derriere marking: c.1965/Mattel,Inc./U.S.Pat'd/U.S.Pat.Pend./Made in Japan. Her arms move freely, no swinging, and they are more pale than the rest of the doll. Her legs also move freely at hip, no swinging. Knees This darling Francie has long shiny brunette hair, still slightly flipped at ends. She has brown eyes, all rooted lashes present, light brown brows, pouty pink original lip paint and cheek blush.She will arrive dressed in NM/Complete "Clam Diggers"(1966). The yellow and orange vinyl slicker has 3 tabs and 6 gold buttons. The hat matches. Orange cotton Bermuda shorts are worn with a yellow cotton knit top. The plastic sunglasses are orange with a green stripe and are very hard-to-find! Yellow soft pointed-toe shoes complete the outfit.
