1966 BG29 Fillmore Poster Jefferson Airplane-The Sound

Sold For:

Sold Date: 08/23/2010
Channel: Online Auction
Source: eBay

This auction is for a 1966 Jefferson Airplane/Muddy Waters/Paul Butterfield concert poster known as "The Sound" and featuring the amazing artwork of Wes Wilson. This is the black and white first printing of the poster known as BG-29-OP-1 as described by Eric King in "The Collector's Guide to Rock Concert Posters, Postcards and Handbills". It is also featured in "The Art of the Fillmore" (Gayle Lemke and Jacaeber Kastor) and "The Art of Rock" (Paul Gushkin). I have had this poster stored flat in acid free framing materials for the last 10 years in a light free, temperature controlled environment. It has no tears, folds, bends, tape, pin holes or noticeable wear of any kind. The colors are as bright as any you will find on any example of this poster. This poster is rarely seen on on ebay these days. I am listing it with a starting bid that is below recorded auction sales of similar examples of this poster and well below retail prices. I guarantee this to be an over 40 year old Bill Graham Presents authorized first printing and will gladly accept return on items if they are misrepresented. Please note shipping cost. I will only ship this poster flat in a well protected container via Priority Mail with insurance. Sorry, I can't offer international shipping on this item. Always happy to answer questions, so please ask before bidding. Thanks
