The Rolling Stones, who formed in 1962 and first made it to the States in 1964, had made a huge name for themselves by 1966. They had gone on a few US tours by this time and were the hottest concert on the planet. The small islands of Hawaii , however, had not witnessed the Stones mania yet. Tom Moffatt, radio personality and the concert promoter that first got Elvis to the islands, was able to make a Stones' visit possible. Some Hawaiians, who were more familiar with groomed bands such as the Beatles and Rascals, were not entertained by their lewd on-stage behavior. Others were blown away, spurring Moffatt to get the boys back as much as time and money allowed. Unfortunately, it was (and still is) very expensive to get major acts to Hawaii , so the Stones weren't back until 1973. This boxing style poster, measuring 14" x 22", is on thick poster board. The poster is not in mint condition as it was probably on a wall at one point. The poster contains a total of 15 small staple holes around the entire perimeter. The top left corner has slight handling marks which are apparent. The bottom left corner has a crease about 1 1/2" long. The top and bottom right corners are in good shape, with just a slight ding in the bottom corner. T is a crease to the right of "The" in "The Rolling Stones" which spans to the dancing figures.
