FOUR (4) MATCHING VINTAGE DELFT ART POTTERY WILLIAMSBURG RESTORATION C 47 BLUE AND WHITE FOOTED SWEETMEAT SCALLOP SHELL TRAYS ~ ALL FOUR PIECES CARRY THE WILLIAMSBURG RESTORATION HALLMARK ~ ~ ALL FOUR PIECES IN WONDERFUL CONDITION ~ Welcome to the month of October, and the 2007 fall season. Being offered for your consideration, with NO RESERVE , are these Four (4) wonderful Vintage Delft Art Pottery Williamsburg Restoration #C 47 Blue and White Footed Sweetmeat Scallop Shell Trays. ~ PLEASE NOTE ~ that the photographs included with this auction are for the actual trays being sold. These trays represent a tradition established by the Colonial Williamsburg foundation to offer authentic reproductions of many of the most beautiful artifacts within the Williamburg collections. All four of these pieces carry the oval Williamsburg Restoration hallmark, a backstamp reserved for those items approved by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation as having met the exacting standards for reproducing authentic adaptations or reproductions of items within the Colonial Williamsburg collection. All four trays are reproductions of a circa 1750 sweetmeat dish; during the 1980's the original tray could be found in Weatherburns Tavern inside Colonial Williamburg. The blue and white motif is Oriental in design featuring a pavillion alongside a small lake. The trays each measure 3 3/4 inches in diameter and carry the model number C 47 in the 1980 Williamsburg Restoration catalog. Each dish is scallop shell shaped with three small feet adorning the underside. The bottom of each tray carries the Delft imprinted blue backstamp with the Williamsburg Restoration logo and the words Made in Holland. Two of the trays carry the impressed year mark 1967; the other two trays do not carry impressed year marks. All four trays are in wonderful condition and free of any signs of damage such as chips, cracks, flea bites, or repairs. The trays have from a smoke free estate collection and are free. ~ PLEASE NOTE ~ that any white areas appearing in the photographs are the result of flash photography, and do not exist on the actual object. ~SHIPPING COSTS ~ The trays weigh 8 ounces before packaging; after packing the trays and shipping box together weigh 1 pound 15 ounces. All auction items will be boxed and packaged appropriately with tissue paper, bubble wrap, and Styrofoam peanuts. Buyer to pay ~ ACTUAL ~ postage and insurance costs for U.S. Priority Mail Shipping. Insurance is optional but highly recommended.
