This is the comic novel of Barbarella that was published shortly after the 1968 Barbarella film was released. That Paramount ® film was produced by Dino DeLaurentiis, directed by Roger Vadim and it starred Jane Fonda as Barbarella and John Phillip Law as Pygar. Background The story of Barbarella was originally a French science fiction comic book, written and illustrated by Jean-Claude Forest and it was first published in France by H.-G. Gallet and Le Terrain Vague of Paris before being adapted for the film. After the film was released, Grove Press, Inc. of New York re-published the story, which was translated from French to English by Richard Seaver. Paramount Pictures provided a publicity photograph from the film which was used for the front cover of this book.This is a soft cover book that is 8-1/4" wide by 10-7/8" high by 1/4" thick with 68 illustrated story pages. The story and illustrations are sexually oriented. IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN.
