1968 Pennant Winner Detroit Tigers Vintage Lot: Newpapers, Posters, World Series Guide and Detroit Tigers 1969 Scorecard BookLive through the 1968 World Series excitement of the Detroit Tigers through posters, front page headlines, sports sections and congratulatory ads, from the local newspapers, The Detroit News World Series Guide and the 1969 Official Scorebook of the World Champion Detroit Tigers vs the California Angels. The Detroit News Tiger Super Posters include : Al Kaline, Mickey Lolich, Denny McLain, Jim Price, Joe Sparma, Don Wert, Earl Wilson, Willie Horton(pretty damaged), and John Wyatt and local radio personality Dick Purtan. The Macomb Daily had a Mickey Lolich and Denny McLain poster. Dated Sept. through Oct. 12, 1968. Each poster is a full newspaper page, about 23 1/2" x 14 3/4". T are 5 front page, section A newspapers from: The Detroit News, The Macomb Daily and The Detroit Free Press. T are 7 sports sections from the local papers listed, covering parts of the season and World Series Victory, of the 1968 Detroit Tigers. The congratulatory ads/cartoons for the victory by local advertisers: Chrysler Corporation, Hudson's(3), Kellogg's(2), the Macomb Daily, Montgomery Ward, Ambassador Bridge and Grey Eagle Distributors(St. Louis County). The Detroit News 1968 World Series Guide has Denny McLain on the cover, Key Men in the middle of it, team info and a scorecard for each game. (The cover is pretty stained.) Detroit Tigers World Champions Official Scorecard Book: Celebrating Baseball's Centennial 1869-1969. In the center is the scorecard for the California Angels vs. Detroit Tigers. It has been used and shows a 4-1 victory by the Tigers. All items are aged, stained and slightly torn, some more than others. Cleaning out gramma's basement, we found these treasures.
