This ought to be in a museum! Auction is for a Winthrop Rockefeller 1968 campaign "68 Club" volunteer bag. Winthrop Rockefeller -- of THOSE Rockefellers -- ran for the office of governor of Arkansas in 1968 -- and won. This bag was, in the words of the original card still stapled to the inside "handmade by a Rockefeller supporter in Lonoke, Arkansas. When you accept it, you pledge to volunteer 68 hours to campaign for Governor Rockefeller in '68."
Bag is a type of canvas material, and a wool patch shaped like the state of Arkansas is affixed to the front. I got this from the estate of a wealthy lady in my town. I'm pretty sure it was only used for a bit then stored well until now. Bag is in very good condition, with just one small spot (see last picture). I'm selling it as I got it, with the campaign pins and "68 Club" card still attached. Winthrop Rockefeller was one of the best governors this state has ever had. Bag measures about 12" by 12", not including handles. *** PLEASE READ: I get most of these items from estate sales. Please assume that cats and dogs have smoked 10,000 cigarettes and have eaten gluten-coated peanuts and snorted ragweed pollen in a house heated by a wood-burning stove while wearing/using these items -- and bid accordingly or NOT AT ALL. Stuff may smell like smoke. zOMG! You might have to wash and/or dry clean clothes you buy from me! All sales final & no returns unless you can convince me I've egregiously misdescribed something. If you still want to bid after reading this, then that's great; if not, then that's fine and dandy, too. Thank you and happy auctioning. I can take up to 5 business days to ship. Usually, I ship faster than that, but if you're not willing to wait possibly that long for me to ship, then PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BIDDING. BEST OFFERS: If you see something you like but feel my asking price is too high, then by all means MAKE ME AN OFFER. The worst I can do is turn you down. If the listing is a Buy It Now/OBO, then I'm likely willing to bargain, especially on combined purchases. **** I will combine shipping and give a discount within reason. Clothes are easy to combine; books and china, not so easy. **** Books are heavy. I ship them via USPS, media rate. This means the book(s) will take longer to get to you, but you'll pay less. ***PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR A BUY IT NOW IF I DO NOT HAVE THAT OPTION LISTED IN THE AUCTION. THANK YOU. **** Special note on china, glassware, and pottery: I pack VERY well, but due to recent bad experience with USPS I will now require a mandatory extra 1.50$ for insurance, IN ADDITION TO THE CALCULATED PRICE, on such items no matter how small or cheap the item is because it's not fair for buyers to hold me responsible for items USPS breaks when I wrap and label everything as best as I possibly can. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING POLICY : I'm willing to ship outside the U.S. if you're willing to pay whatever USPS charges plus my 2$ handling. Countries and regions of Exception: I will NOT ship to Mexico, Central & South America, Africa or Italy. Sorry. Also, I am not responsible for any taxes or customs fees that may apply or accrue to or with such transactions.
