We have for auction an original Vintage 1970 10 dot Case XX folding hunter pattern knife This is one of the original Case XX knives. This knife has 10 (Ten) dots ( . ) and would date back to 1970. That by the way is the first year of Case's dot dating system. This would be one of the first Case brand knives with these specific date markings. This knife has an over all length of 9 1/4" inches with the main blade open. The main blade measuring 4 1/4" inches, and the secondary blade measuring the same. This knife wears the early style flat ground Clip or Saber blade and a Skinner for its secondary blade. This knife is a pattern number 6265 SAB. This pattern is what Case refered to as a "Folding Hunter" pattern in their catalogs. Large patterns like this are prized by serious knife collectors as they are seldom encountered. Based on Cases Product numbering system with the first number being a "6" designates this as wearing red wood handles with nickel silver bolsters and solid brass liners. The second number "2" denotes the number of blades. The third and fourth are the pattern number "65" being a folding hunter pattern. Stamped on the blade tang is "Case XX" over "U.S.A." over ten dots (.) on one side and the pattern number "6265 SAB" stamped on it's reverse. The secondary blade has no markings. How often do you ever see early Case knives like this in this condition today? WOW!! The knife shows no signs of use! This knife has not been cleaned or polished in any way, it appears as it did new nearly 40 years ago. This one is about as nice as you will ever find. You seldom see these early Case 10 dot knives. Seldom ever in the large patterns like this. You might never see another like it at any price. T will be many great knives listed in the coming days. Keep checking back!
