Rare limited edition 1970 "HIVER" by Daum. NUMBER 780 of 2000. This plate was designed and signed SC, by Famous Sculptor Raymond Corbin , now deceased. Measures 10-1/2" and weighs a full 4 pounds. The plate is in excellent condition, still in the box - the box itself shows some shelf wear. New owner will be very pleased. Founded in 1875 at Nancy, France, Daum is a very famous glass company that is still in business and has always manufactured crystal vases, glasses and figurines by the traditional methods of glass blowing "Pate de verre" ( The material which Pharaohs used for their jewelry). Pate de verre is a rare and very old technique of crystal making used as far as 3.500 years B.C.
