This is an auction for a 1960's - 70's swivel egg chair. The shell is made from styrofoam as was Arne Jacobsen's original 1958 Egg Chair .The foot is a crosspiece of wood and has 4 springs on top of the swivel plate for movementThe seat is cushioned, the back 1/2 cushioned, and the cover is made of nylon. Under this cover the styrofoam does feel a little bumpy at the top of the back, through general wear and tearThe cover is a bit worn. The chair has no manufacturers mark, only that of an upholsterer .This retro chair is very usable as it is or alternatively for a re-upholstery project which would add ££'s to it value.Approximate measurementsHeight = 39" (99cm)Width = 30" (76cm) Depth = 32" (81cm)very approx. weight = 14kg Buyer can collect or arrange own courier located in Clapton, E. London re. swivel plate springs - allows it to rock like a rocking chair just noticed that the white dots that you can see in the cover on the left arm are small holes in the fabric.... theres about five of them (<4mm)
