1970's RARE Ideal Grow Hair Doll ~ BLACK AA Moovin' Groovin' Velvet ALL ORIGINALLook at the photos of this hard to find doll. She is one of the Grow Hair dolls from 1970's and is the BLACK MOOVIN' GROOVIN' VELVET. She comes to you in wonderful shape with HTF All Original Outfit. She was made in 1971. The best part is that she's being offered with NO RESERVE !!This pretty black doll is one of the Ideal dolls that belongs in the Crissy Family. She stands at 15-1/2" tall and is called Moovin' Groovin' Velvet. She was made in 1971 by Ideal and is RARE doll. This doll is all original including her purple shoes and purple hair bow. I will fully describe the doll and her outfit as well as show many photos.This doll is in superb condition. She looks as though she was mostly displayed and never / rarely played with. Velvet has black hair that is short around her face and head and then has the long ponytail. The front portion of her hair hangs down below her chin while the rest is shorter. The side to the left might be a bit longer than the right. All of the hair is wonderful .. silky smooth and very shiny. The hair around her face is straight. She has a center part in the front. The sides and back hang down straight. I don't believe the hair has been cut .. nice length on her sides as they reach to the bottom of her neckline. The back is nice and thick also. There are no missing plugs. The ponytail looks great. The hair is still silky smooth. When the ponytail is at full length .. it reaches to below her knees. The ends of the ponytail have a slight curl. She has a very pretty face. Her eyebrows are dark brown with no rubs or fading. She has very nice dark brown sleep eyes that open and close smoothly. Her rooted lashes are all in place with none missing or cut. They do curl on the ends. Her eyes are a solid brown with no pupils. The eyes are still sparkling. There is some white residue that need cleaning on the outer side of her eyelid of the left eye. She still has some pink color to her cheeks that blends well with her brown skin tone. She has a very nice closed mouth smile with pink lip paint. There are no rubs. The back of her neck is marked (C) 1969 / IDEAL TOY CORP / GH-15-H152. Her body is made of plastic with a jointed waist and vinyl arms. She has very light wear on her torso with light scratches / dirty spots. Her belly button is peach colored. There are two screws to the side of her waist that are also peach color. The back grow hair dial is round and is also peach colored. The grow hair mechanism still works and her belly button does too. Her vinyl arms look pretty good with complete set of fingers. No chew marks with light wear. Her legs are also very nice with very light wear. There is a scratch on the back of her right upper leg. Her feet look great with no chew marks. Her rear is marked as it should be. The marking say (C)1971 / IDEAL TOY CORP / M-12 / 2M - 5317 - 02 and then a 2 below that. The upper back is marked (C) 1971 / IDEAL TOY CORP / MG-15 / US PAT 3.162 976 / OTHER PAT PEND. Overall ... She's a very pretty version of this doll with wonderful hair.Velvet comes with her ALL Original Outfit. She has her purple velvet hair bow, original dress, matching panties and purple vinyl shoes.The hair bow is made of a purple velvet with a bobby pin in place to hold in her hair. The ribbon matches the one on her dress. It's nice and clean .. it's a little bent and could use a re-shape.The dress is the original one for the Moovin' Groovin' Velvet. It's the two tone dress in pink with the drop waist. The dress is made of a pin nylon material with an attached pink satin lower skirt / slip. There is a pink ruffle overskirt at the bottom that covers the pink satin. The bodice has an overlay of ivory white lace. There is crocheted lace trim around the neckline, arm holes and bottom of the satin dress. There is a purple velvet bow at the waist. The back of the dress closes with three square snaps. The dress is untagged.She has matching pink satin panties that have the same crocheted lace trim at the leg holes. The waist is elastic but it's stretched out. They could use a little help staying up. The panties are nice and clean with no holes or damage. They are also untagged.Finally, she comes with her original purple vinyl T-strap shoes. They are a nice dark purple with small heel. The shoes are nice and clean with no damage. The bottoms are marked 7M5199 / 01 and 7M5199 / 02. The insides are marked with the L and R.Overall .. She's a Hard to Find doll with her original outfit that is looking for someone who can truly appreciate her. Don't Miss Out .. There's NO RESERVE !!
