The pine slat version of the imaginative MOON LAMP design is usually attributed to Hans Agne Jakobsson (1919 - 2009)whose work is not yet widely known internationallyand therefore interesting for collectors (source: Auktionshaus Quittenbaum, Munich).I cannot tell whether this particular lamp was actually manufactured by Ellysett AB Markarydas there is no label (which is not unusual though). The lamp shade consists of 11 thin pine slats ranging from approx 22cm to 38cm (8 ¾” to 15”) in diameter, approx 4.5cm wide (5”).The slats are held in place by a wooden bracket which acts as a pivot allowing the slats to be swivelled. Each individual slat can be adjusted and thus acts as a visor regulating the desired brightness. The lamp is in very good vintage condition with very minor wear.A tiny slither has come off on the middle slat (see photo). However, this goes unnoticed when the slats are arranged in the usual overlapping pattern. Beyond its design historic value, the MOON LAMP adds a beautiful warm glow, ideal for cosy Winter evenings. The lamp would not be hung as low as shown on the picture with the table and chair, or course.I have photographed the lamp with these items (which are not included in the offer)so that you may be able to better judge the size of the lamp.
